It was an incredible thrill for Alan Bonnici, the host of FishingMad, to win the Best Outdoor, Recreational and Sports program at the TV Antenna Awards hosted on 15th November at Cathedral Hall in Melbourne. The Antenna Awards recognise excellence in community TV and specialty programs by teams and self-content creators.
Al paid tribute to his followers and viewers, the C31 and C44 networks, as aswell as his family, friends, and essential sponsors Victorian Fisheries, Shaimano Australia, BarCrusher, and Action Water Sports. FishingMad is one of the very few shows on TV where one person serves as host, film crew, editor, and more. Alan spoke about the challenges of filming while on his boat and kayak, trying to create high-production content in challenging conditions with these various cameras. For Alan, it’s been a long journey, and this is great recognition for his tireless work in the fishing community, including volunteering for programs and creating relatable content that really does help many anglers. Well done, Al !!
