Michael King and his good mate Sean Johnstone have been putting in many hours lately. Fishing around Cherry Lake trying to land a monster Mud marlin. The boys have been catching plenty of small carp but some weeks back lost a huge Carp which leapt out of the water and spat the hook right infront of them. Since then the boys have been doing everything to seek redemption putting in the hours trying to land that monster size carp. The boys have been fishing near the main car park entrance of Millers road and near the cricket club of frenso street. Thankfully after many attempts the guys landed a beast which almost snapped their light fishing rod in half. It was quite an epic battle as the Carp continually headed for snaggy and weedy areas. The boys however finally landed it after a few unsuccessful attempts. This was caught on corn kernels about 2 hours before sundown with a basic running sinker rig to a size 6 long shank hook.
