Mornington Garfish Fishing, Rob Wortho has kindly sent us through a fishing report from Mornington Peninsula. Rob launched from the Mornington Boat ramp with his Hobie Outback kayak. A morning on the water with some close mates in search of garnish. Once reaching water depths of around 3 meters deep the guys anchored up and started berleying the area using homemade berley consisting of breadcrumbs with tuna oil. I didn’t take to long before the gears to turn up and in massive numbers. The setup was a combination of rigs including a float rig and split shot rig with small hooks. Adjusting the line to ensure the bait was in the right strike zone.  The best performing baits were small pieces of silverfish and maggots.

The bite was red hot and each angler caught their bag limit of 30 garfish each in quick time by continually adding more handfuls of berley to keep the gears hanging around. This was Robs first time targeting garfish an outstanding effort bagging out in no time. Great Report Rob thanks for sharing with us.
