Altona Snapper Fishing Report. The water temperature is still quite cold but early season Snapper Fishing is in full flight. Glenn Moss was fishing on his hobie kayak anchored up in 6 meters deep when he landed this beautiful 75cm snapper in Altona. It was caught using a paternoster rig and half pilchards as bait which were getting picked of by small pinkies. This was a rig created after watching one of the FishingMad rig videos. It’s a great catch from a kayak so well done Glenn. Great to see some early season snapper coming through with catches reported also around Williamstown, Werribee, Corio and Port Melbourne which is very pleasing.
