local young gun Jesse Baron has been fishing the Barwon river lately. He has been doing well on redfin and estuary perch using shallow diving and mid-diving hard body lures. Recently Jesse decided to have an afternoon targeting some carp after seeing a lot of carp surfacing whilst targeting other species. Armed with some corn kernels and a heavier rod outfit than normal. Jesse didn’t have to wait too long as he caught many Carp including a couple of large ones around 70cm in size. One, in particular, took almost 10 minutes to land and took a fair share of drag. These mighty mud marlins are often a very underrated sports fish.
