John Marquez was fishing at Moorabool Reservoir this past weekend and landed a lovely Rainbow trout. The conditions were overcast very cold but this is often the optimal conditions for chasing trout. Rainbows in this area put up a good fight and go crazy when they see the banks often leaping out of the water and spitting hooks.

The gear used included the following

The rainbow was caught using a Pink Tassie Devil which was worked at a constant slow to medium pace.

John was fishing with a Shimano Raider and Sienna combo highlighting that you don’t need fancy expensive gear to catch beautiful fish.

Well done John and thanks for sharing.
