Daiwa Bait Junkie New colours and sizes. In 2020 Daiwa entered the soft plastics market with their new product range labelled as bait junkie. Releasing 6 new soft plastics in a great colour range including the 2.5 inch grub, 2.5 inch minnow, 3.2 inch minnow, 4 inch grubs, 5 inch jerk shad and 7 inch jerk shad. These soft plastics have been well received by local anglers and the good news is the range as of 23 June 2021 is growing. That’s right there are new sizes and new colours detailed below.

2 new Bait Junkie sizes 4.2 inch minnow and 6.2 inch minnow
Daiwa has released 2 new range of soft plastics the 4.2 inch minnow and the 6.2 inch minnow. These are very welcome inclusions and now offer saltwater, estuary and freshwater anglers a whole new range of possibilities when targeting bigger species such as Mulloway, Barramundi, Trevally, Mangrove Jack, Cod, Snapper and much more.
Daiwa Bait Junkie 4.2 inch minnow
The new Bait Junkie 4.2 Minnow adopts takes on a new shape and a different material to produce an excellent swimming action. The deeper body design creates flexibility for rigging and helps promote the rolling action that makes this bait so successful. The big boot tail produces a heavy thump to call in nearby predators and will work at low and high speed making it incredibly versatile. The defining ‘slim waist’ design is prominent once again enabling the tail to flex and twist independently as the bait tracks perfectly through the water column.
Now available in 18 colours the 4.2” Minnow is the ‘estuary powerhouse’ of the Bait Junkie range. Featuring rigging lines on the top for easy rigging, this is the bait to reach for when chasing mangrove jack in the snags or canals or big flathead in the estuaries.
The Bait Junkie 4.2” Minnow comes with 5 pieces per pack.
Daiwa Bait Junkie 6.2 inch minnow
The upsized 6.2” Minnow is the perfect large swimbait to tempt big predators. The versatile swimming action which is so evident in the 4.2” version is only increased in the 6.2” model. The longer body and extra girth create the ideal profile and when paired with the rolling/thumping swimming action and is the perfect imitation for large baitfish. The big boot tail will work at very slow speeds enabling the angler to “slow roll” for barramundi, mulloway and makes an excellent trailer when targeting big Murray cod.
