Jeremy Ang has recently moved over to the south east side of Melbourne and has keenly been visiting all the local lakes, rivers and piers to understand good fishing locations. His recent adventure on the Australia day long weekend started at Flinders Pier where he managed to catch a few small squid, he then ventured down to the Patterson river and watched on as locals targeted bream and mullet. Jeremy then went down to the Franskton pier to target some Garfish. It didn’t take him long to catch them. Using small glassies and maggots as bait on very small hooks suspended by a quill float Jeremy landed 8 garfish in an hour. Sticking to the shallow weedy area sand regularly berleying up with small pieces of pilchard helped immensely. Thanks Jeremy we look forward to more reports from that side of Melbourne soon.
