Maribyrnong River Bream in Flemington. Our local guru John Regali headed to his favourite fishing destination the Maribyrnong river. After hitting spots around the anglers tavern he decided a move was in order. They decided to fish in Flemington not far from the racecourse entrance. Using a variety of bait and equipped with long rods with very sensitive nibble tips. John continually berleys the isolated area to entice bream into the area and keep them biting. He also uses a berley cage to ensure his bait is right within the strike zone. To Johns delight he caught many bream. The biggest of the day was a beautiful 38cm blue lip. Which went for some last minute runs near the jetty which caused a few heart wrenching moments before landing. The Maribyrnong river isn’t much to look at but gee it holds some nice healthy bream. Thanks for sharing John.
