Steven Jurcec had a great day out on the water fishing Western port. Anchoring up around Middle Spit in depths between 5 and 6 meters deep. Fishing through the flood tide into dusk the guys had a great session catching many good size whiting using fresh pipis and squid strips as a cocktail bait on both single and paternoster rigs. In fact, one whiting was bigger than 50cm long which is as good as it gets when whiting fishing around the greater Melbourne area. Western Port is a true delight and many around Melbourne will be keen to get back there once the travel restrictions are finally removed.
